Petco Fish Died Policy

Petco just wants to see the dead fish and the receipt to confirm you.
Petco fish died policy. Sent from my samsung note 4 using the forum runner app. For fresh water fish there is a 30 day guarantee on the fish. I believe the fish policies are universal but i could be wrong and they just go for my area store. You must return the fish to the store along with your receipt and may need to provide your photo id or if the fish has died a water sample.
It wasn t their fault the fish died you killed them but they do have a two week return policy and don t care about fault. If you have your receipt you can return your fish alive or deceased to the store for a full refund. According to petco employees the process is so stressful that many others die soon after arriving at the store. I d bring the dead fish too.
With a receipt you might get lucky. Fish return policy. Well that didnt happen and when i asked to speak to a manager it got worse. You must contact customer service within the required time frame as stated above.
Many fish die before and during transport to retailers which can take days as they re shipped all over the country. I work at a petco store. If they come back as a non properly established tank they can technically deny you the refund saying it s your fault the fish died. Some petcos will only do the refund exchange for dead fish if you also bring in a seperate water sample and the sample tests come back normal.
I find that if my fish do die it s usually somewhere between 3 to 5 days after they are in my qt tank. That s amazing how the different petco stores have different return policies. I bought 8 fish from petco last week and was told if any of the fish die within 30 days to bring them fish receipt and a water sample back and they would replace the fish. My lfs only has a 3 day return on dead fish so i rarely buy any from them except maybe nerite snails.
They generally have no return policy and are sullen and insulting.
